Youth Group Returns
Youth Group returns next Sunday, February 12 at it’s regular time, 7:00 pm.
- February 12 - 5th Commandment – Killing is not just Murder
- February 19 - 6th Commandment – It’s what’s in your heart!
Getting Ready for Lent/ Wednesday during Lent
Thinking of what to do for Lent? Here’s a great idea, go to Mass every Wednesday morning at 6:30 am before school. We’ll start Ash Wednesday (February 22), and then every Wednesday after that we’ll have a quick breakfast and get you to school on time (no breakfast Ash Wednesday, it’s a day of fasting and abstinence). Transportation to the high school will be provided if needed.
Every year the youth group oversees the craft and movie rooms for the fish fries. We are currently looking for teens willing to come up with craft projects for young children and who will be available to help during the Fish Fries. If you are able to help out, contact Janet at 724.941.9587, Ext 112.Join teens from the Diocese for a youth pilgrimage to “America’s First Cathedral,” the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Baltimore, Maryland on Friday, March 30. This day is about fellowship and prayer with tours of the Basilica and Catholic Relief Services with Eucharistic Adoration, Stations of the Cross, Confessions, and Mass. Students in Grades 9-12 are invited at $65.00 per person, which includes transportation by Motor coach, bus refreshments, and a fish dinner. Each pilgrim is asked to bring their own “brown bag” lunch. Must sign up by Monday, February 27, and yes, it’s a religious excused absence.
Every Tuesday from after school to 5:30 pm, all high school teens are welcomed to come by the Youth Ministry Office to come and hang out. We’ll be playing Wii, Apples to Apples, and other stuff. There will always be food and drinks, so just bring your friends and hang out!
Mission Trip - Week of July 8-13
The Mission Trip is officially booked!! We are going back to Villa Maria Center (near New Castle) the week of July 8 through 13. We will be working with Habitat for Humanity, local farms, St. Vincent de Paul Soup Kitchen, and other service agencies. All interested teens should contact Janet at 724-941-9587.
