We hear you singing out there during our celebration of God’s Word and the Eucharist and invite you to consider the following:
If you love to sing and are available during the day, you are invited to consider becoming a member of the Saint Benedict Resurrection Choir. The choir helps to lead the singing during funeral liturgies and is a wonderful way to minister to parish families who are grieving the loss of a loved one. The choir meets thirty minutes prior to the beginning of mass.
The Saint Benedict Young People’s Chorus and Young People’s Handbell Choir has plenty of room for interested young people who love to sing and play handbells. The Young People’s Chorus has rehearsals on Tuesday and/or Thursday afternoons; 5:00 pm - 6:00 pm in the choir room (in the church) and the Young People’s Handbell Choir rehearse on Wednesday afternoon, 4:30 pm – 5:30 pm in the choir room.
The Saint Benedict the Abbot Adult Handbell Choir rehearses on Wednesday evening, 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm in the choir room.
The Saint Benedict Choir (Thursday evening, 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm) and Contemporary Choir (Tuesday evening, 7:00 pm – 8:30 pm) are always ready to welcome new members who love sharing our faith through sung prayer.
Perhaps singing is not your strength. Are you a violinist, cellist, trumpet player, saxophonist, trombonist, flautist. Do you play the oboe, possibly percussion, acoustic or electric guitar or bass? Often times we only think of adding instruments to the celebration of Liturgy for Christmas and Easter forgetting that we celebrate the gift of God’s Word and Eucharist every week. You are invited to consider sharing your gifts of time and talent through any of these opportunities in the Saint Benedict the Abbot Music Ministry.
