Memorials Available
From time to time parishioners are looking for a way to memorialize a loved one through some article that is used in the celebration of the sacred liturgy. As Father Michael and Father Sam both want to center our focus on the dignity of our worship, replacements for old items that have worn over time are necessary.
Here are four items and the cost of each which may be purchased by families or individuals in memory of a loved one.
- Matching set for Ordinary Time—chasuble with a dalmatic, the vestment proper to a deacon. Since our parish does not own a dalmatic for this season, Deacon Jack wears only a stole, but it is more fitting to vest him in the clothing proper to his Order. Cost is $390 for the chasuble and $190 for the dalmatic.
- Wedding vestment—we own no white chasuble specifically for the many weddings that we celebrate in the parish. Cost $796.
- Altar cover for Chapel—Liturgical guidelines ask that the entire top of the altar be covered in a white cloth, so our Chapel where we celebrate Mass daily could use a new cloth that is easy to care for and can coordinate with seasonal décor. Cost $345, includes the non-slip under-fabric.
