When I needed a ride you drove me in the big blue van...
When I was tired you gave me a bed to sleep on...
When I was lonely you gave me comfort...
When I was hungry you gave me food..
The IHN program is dedicated to helping homeless families stay intact during times of crisis. The Interfaith Hospitality Network in Washington has:
Approximately 32 area churches that provide families with a warm bed, three meals per day, transportation, compassion and comfort.
In 2009 32 families were hosted. These families were comprised of 99 individuals; 57 were children.
In 2009, 22 families seured permanent houseing, either into their own apartents or transitioned into families homes. That is a 70% success rate.
Last year, St. Benedict the Abbot's IHN hosted 23 indidivudals, 13 of whom were children.
We are hosting for five weeks in 2010. We are in need of additional volunteers. If you can help during the weeks listed below, please fill out the form at the left and click Submit or call Mary Spinabelli 724.942.2478.
