The History of the Catholic Church
A six session course with Fr. Sam Esposito, M.A. Church History

Father Sam, whose major in seminary was Church History, as he explores the history of the Roman Catholic Church, beginning with the Pentecost event. Each week, he unfolds the rich drama that is Church History, the saints and sinners, the glories and tragedies.
Week 1: From Jerusalem to Rome
Week 2: The Temporal Power of the Church conflicts with Spiritual Power
Week 3: The Conversion of Western Europe, Monasticism and the Middle Ages
Week 4: Christianity is Fractured: East meets West, Reformation and Revolt
Week 5: The Church in the New World and Twentieth Century Developments
Week 6: The Church in the Diocese of Pittsburgh
Even though the course is part of the diocesan enrichment series for accreditation of catechists and Catholic school teachers, parishioners who are not seeking any credits can feel free to attend at no charge.
