First Holy Communion Dates

First Holy Communion will be held for all First Eucharist Candidates during the last two weeks in April and the first week in May. Children have been assigned by class as follows:

First Eucharist

Those who were baptized in the Catholic Church as infants are to be led to eucharistic communion when they reach the use of reason (generally the age of seven). Enrollment in our parish Faith Formation program should occur in grade one when suitable formation is begun to augment the formation that occurs within the Christian family. In the second year of our parish Faith Formation programs, children are considered candidates for First Holy Communion.

Here at St. Benedict the Abbot Church, First Eucharist is celebrated during the Easter season. Students must successfully complete two years of religious education prior to reception of First Eucharist.
